iCue Sales FAQ.
What is iCue?
iCue is a USB-based device that will direct the user to any location on the world wide web – a home page, specific URL within a website, or a cloud space. What makes the iCue unique is that it user tracking capability, can be reprogrammed even AFTER they have been handed out, can be directed to an iCue cloud space, and can feature a registration page allowing the business customer a chance to collect valuable data on their potential or existing customers.
Why not the push button web launcher or a web key?
Web-Keys do not have tracking capability nor can they be reprogrammed once handed out. A traditional webkeycan only direct a user to a website or URL. Therefore, once in the field the destination cannot be changed. Additional features like tracking, user registration, or re-programming are not available. Also, traditional webkeysmay have compatibility issues after certain Windows or Apple Mac updates.
What is needed for the iCue to work?
Any Windows based PC or Apple Mac with a USB port that is connected to the internet. Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. Windows Server 2003, 2008, and Apple MAC OSX and up.
What makes the iCue + Cloud different from a standard USB and why would I want the iCue?
A Standard USB drive is a great tool and when preloaded with data, they can be a great way to distribute data to customers. However, once USB drives are handed out – the data can become obsolete or if there was a mistake in the data load – the data may not even be accurate or complete. The iCue+Cloud takes the data and puts it into a cloud space. With iCue, users can just plug in their iCue to any USB port and have instant access to the new data. This allows the data to be updated as often as needed and/or corrected if there was any mistakes. iCue never get old – the data is always up to date. With the tracking capability – business users know who and how often data is being accessed. USB drives do not offer this.
What is registration? Why do I want that?
One optional feature for every iCue is the ability to have a 1st time user registration page. So the FIRST time an iCue is plugged in – the user will be directed to a registration page. This is a simple page to collect valuable user data – such as name, company, address, and email. Additionally, custom questions can be created to collect industry specific data. For instance, an auto company may want to ask what kind of car you drive, or when you plan to buy another car. Or, a computer company may want to know what is important in making a buying decision. The custom questions offer a unique opportunity to COMMUNICATE and STAY CONNECTED to your customer.
Why is reprogramming the destination URL important and how is it used?
The main and most important feature is the ability to simply change the destination. When iCues are handed out, they may point users directly to a homepage. But later the destination could be changed to a new website, a new page within a website or to a cloud space to access online data such as Documents, Music, Videos, Software, or any type of data relevant to your business. Taking this one step further, you have the ability to change all, some, or just one iCue. The ability to change the destination of all or just one iCue allows businesses to create customized incentive programs to get users to plug in their iCues more frequently. Create online discounts, coupons, buy one get one promotions, giveaways, monthly, weekly or even daily promotions! Hold online contests and select just one or some of the iCue’s a winner.
The iCue never gets old. It never gets outdated. It never becomes obsolete.

How can Iincentivize my customers and make the iCue successful?
It is important to give users a reason to want to plug in the iCues and use them. Traditional web-keys only have a use rate of 20-40%. Traditional USB drives preloaded with data have a 40-60% usage rate. But after the first time – it is unknown how often these devices are used. Most customers just delete data from the USB drive and use the free space for their own needs. After launching a web page with a Web-Key – users normally just toss out the webkey or if lucky, they bookmark the URL.
So how can the iCue have a higher success rate? Create an incentive to make users want to plug them in. Rewards such as special rebates, discounts, coupons, loyalty programs, etc. The more creative you can be the longer and more often users will want to keep and use their iCue. Meanwhile – each time they plug the iCue in – it represents another opportunity to promote and drive the message you want to give your customers.
How does the iCue work and what exactly does it do?
Each iCue carries a unique identifier. When plugged into a computer connected to the internet the iCue will check in with our servers identifying itself based on the unique ID. Our servers hold the programming and based on each unique ID – can send the iCue to any destination in the World Wide Web. The iCue can be pointed to your home page, to a specific page on your site. Direct access to the information you want to feed your customers. Just plug the USB iCue in and users are directed to the messages and information you want them to see – and because the iCues are reprogrammable – they never get old. What makes the iCue extraordinary is that within each batch of iCues – ALL, SOME, orONE iCue- can be reprogrammed. This allows the ability to have contests, special programs, incentives that reach only some or just one of the iCue users. Add in advanced tracking and reporting – now you know how often, when, and where iCues are being used. Add in the registration page – now you know who your customers are and by asking custom questions during registration – you can collect valuable data important to your business.

Is the iCue affordable?
Yes! With the iCue, you can customize your iCue plan based on your needs. There are different levels of the iCue plan to fit any customer need and budget. The Basic iCue plan costs less than most USB flash drives.
What does the iCue look like?
The standard iCue is a key sized usb device that is white and can be custom logo imprinted on each side. However if you want something more….only your imagination can determine that! You’ll have the option programming any standard looking USB drive, paper webkey, USB pen, etc. – It’s up to you!
I just received my order of 1,000 USB drives, can I use them with the iCue technology?
Unfortunately, it would not be cost-effective to use your existing flash drives with memory installed. Our unique programming must be installed during production at our factory.
What makes the iCue different than a USB drive?
The iCue is not a memory device. It is a low cost (no memory) USB device that stores a unique ID code. This ID code is transmitted to our servers and directs the end user to any programmed destination. iCue + Cloud offers the ability to access stored data – much like a preloaded USB drive. However the cloud feature allows the data to be changed, updated, deleted AFTER the iCue’s are in the field. USB drives preloaded with data cannot be altered once they are in the field.
